We offer advanced classes for dogs that have graduated form our obedience classes and want to do advanced things with their dogs. Some of the things we can teach include:
Advanced Off-Leash Class: We will teach your dog to understand & comprehend tasks at very long distances so it is clear to you and your dog.
We will work on improving distance work to the place command, recalls into straight positions or heel, tightening up in motion commands like sit, down, or stand. We can teach things like reverse in all positions or whatever you want to teach your dog. Your dog has to be motivated and capable physically to be able to do some of these tasks.
The Trained Retrieve: Your dog will learn to bring you anything you request of him or her, whether you’re hunting, doing service work, or just wanting your slippers and the newspaper!
Scent Detection: Training scent detection can be fun and give your pet something to do. We can teach you how to do scent detection for various items but we do not train civilian dogs for narcotics or explosives. We only do that with Law Enforcement or certain agencies that have a need for that.
IPO/Schutzhund. We train our own personnel dogs for this but we are not a club and do not train with a club, we freelance train. We can get your dog on the right track to prepare them for this type of competition.
Our Stay and train program allows your dog to stay at our facility under the care of our trainers. Over the course of one, two, or three weeks (based upon evaluation of your pet), your pet will lose their bad habits and evolve into an obedient canine companion. This program is ideal for the pet owner with a busy lifestyle or who wants to take a vacation while allowing us to begin your pet’s transformation.
Feel free to enjoy your vacation knowing you are going to return to a more refined best friend. Your pet is trained as we live allowing them to have training experiences in many different environments and become a well-rounded companion then you, the owner, will learn how to maintain your dog’s excellent behaviors through “Leadership Transfer” private lessons and be able to follow up with group classes to maintain everything you have learned!
Private lessons are one on one with you & your family at your home, park, or our facility. These lessons work to teach your dog obedience and to teach you understanding. We work with you & your dog together to make you a team and then you have homework to do between lessons. Private lessons are great for those that are motivated and willing to do some work and want to be highly involved in their pets training.
Private Lessons/Group, we first do three private lessons to give you and your dog a great foundation and then you come to small group classes. The classes are kept small to make sure each dog and their owners are able to get personal attention without getting lost in a large group. The course covers a comprehensive range of topics to finish and maintain training to keep you and your dog proficient on our program and to make sure you stay on track for the life of your dog!
Do you work in the dog industry? Are you a veterinarian, vet tech, or groomer? If so, we can provide you with information about our programs, approaches, theories, tips, and strategies to work with dogs. We not only train dogs, we train the people. We can help make your clients’ dogs into good dogs. Also, we provide information on bite prevention and how to keep you safe. We will also show you our dogs and how our attention reward based training works. Best of all, we do all of this while we buy YOU lunch!

Lance trained our 5 1/2 month old Bullmastiff and my family and I were in complete awe when he brought him back to us. What a total transformation! He’s doing things that we had hoped for, for example, he sits when you say sit. Although this might seem like a simple task, he sits until he is released from that position. Speaking from a concern parent, Lance’s training has allowed our younger kids to have control of our growing bully. In short, Sit Means Sit is a GREAT start for any dog owner who wants the best for their dog. As for Lance as a trainer, he provided us with very insightful hints, he was very patience with our many questions, and most of all, he is professional. Again, I highly encourage dog owners to seek his services, you will not be disappointed.
Lance has trained our yellow lab Penny and is currently training our new yellow lab Daisy. Exceptional program. I will never own another dog without having them trained at sit means sit. Hands down the best investment I have ever made for our dogs. Now if I could just get him to train our kids…….hmmmm:)
Cory trained my Siberian Husky puppy and he did an absolutely amazing job with Iya. I have nothing but positive words about him and his training services. I am so happy I found him! I was actually considering rehoming her but, thanks to Cory, Iya has a permanent home.
Martin trained my 1 year old Mini Schnauzer, Sampson, and I was so impressed and pleased to see the difference in Sampson when he returned home from his 2 week board and train. I have recommended Martin and Sit Means Sit to several of my friends and co-workers. Sampson is a happier and more cooperative pup! Martin actually is an excellent trainer who shows patience, gives great advice, and always is available to answer any questions I may have. I wish I would have found Sit Means Sit and Martin earlier. Sampson and I look forward to continuing our training. I would recommend them to anyone who needs training assistance! Thank You, Martin!
